Painting is a game, both serious and playful. Different elements combine to make a puzzle which I try to solve. Colour is the lure, the way to make a picture sing and stand by itself. Music is an inspiration. I like to experiment and surprise myself in the moment. One thing leads to another and something comes about. Painting satisfies a need for joy and some kind of order – to still the ever-shifting flux of thoughts and feelings. To bring things together into an unexpected whole.
